This happens when car is turned off with some steering assist being applied (whether you know it or not). Often you have to manhandle the wheel in one direction or the other while turning the key. Thursday afternoon I was out for a ride around my property on my 2016 Kubota RTV-X1100C with about 20 hours on it - when for no apparent reason the engine sputtered and quit.
